スタートレックで町おこし!?

アメリカでは勿論、日本でも大人気のSFドラマ「スタートレック」シリーズ。
実はアイオワ州のある小さな町では、
このスタートレックにあやかった町おこしを行っているらしい。
スタートレックの主人公であるカーク船長の生まれ故郷であるリバーサイドは、
２５年も前から彼の誕生日をお祝いするイベントがあるらしい。

とはいっても、住民の殆どは熱狂的なスタートレックのファンではなく、
どうも風習として根付いてしまっている、というのが現状だろう。
もうすぐ公開される新作は、全米公開前日にリバーサイドの住人だけの
特別上映会が行われるとか……

ちなみに私は、最初のスタートレックを知りません
知っているのは、パトリック・スチュワートがピカード艦長を演じている
「新・スタートレック」以降の作品です。
尤も、「新・スタートレック」にもカーク船長はゲストで出ているので、
カーク船長だけは知っていますけどね。
ただ、「スタートレック・ヴォイジャー」はまあ良かったのですが……
「ＤＳ９」の方は好きになれませんでしたね
艦隊戦というか……戦艦同士のバトルが無かった分、興味を削がれました。
