GM「サターン」をペンスキーへ

連邦破産法を申請したGMは小型車部門の「サターン」を売却することになった。
売却先は、ペンスキー・オートモーティブ。

モータースポーツファンならご存知、
元インディーレーサーで、インディーシリーズに現在参戦中の
チーム・ペンスキーのオーナーでもあるリチャード・ペンスキーさんの会社です。

実はこのチーム・ペンスキー……
元F1&インディードライバーのマイケル・アンドレッティさんがオーナーのチーム
アンドレッティ・グリーン・レーシング共々
来期のF1参戦を検討しているという噂もあったんですよ。
特にAGRのドライバーは、ダニカ・パトリックさんという噂もあって、
久しぶりに女性F1ドライバーの誕生か!?という憶測もあったのですが、
結局両チームとも来期のF1参戦は行わないようですね。

それにしても、GMの一部を買い取ったりF1に出ようとしたり……
ペンスキー・オートモーティブは、そんなに儲かっているんですか!?

まあ、F1の方はあくまで噂でしたが……
