狼と香辛料Ⅱ 第３話

狼と香辛料Ⅱの第３話を見ました。
というわけで、その感想です。

第３幕-狼と埋まらない溝-

宿で言伝を受け取ったロレンスが向かったのは、
クレメンスにあるローエン商業組合の商館だった。
商館で待っていたアマ－ティはロレンスに契約書を見せ、
ホロの借金の肩代わりと求婚を宣言する。
その条件とは、翌日の夕刻までに現金で
トレニー銀貨１０００枚を揃える事。
困惑したロレンスではあったが、その契約を結ぶことに。

ホロと祭を楽しんだロレンスだが、
夕刻に一通の手紙とマルクからの言伝を受け取り、
先日ホロが見かけた占い師の影響で、
無価値だった黄銅石が破格の高値で取引されていたことを知る。
その頃、宿に残ったホロはロレンス宛の手紙を読み、
帰るべきヨイツの村が既に滅んでしまった事を知ってしまう。


ホロに惚れてるアマーティは積極的というか、向こう見ずというか……
若さゆえの行動力、と評した方がいいんでしょうね。
まあ、若干暴走気味ではありますが、強かさも兼ね備えていそうです。
もっとも、実は意外と粘着質っぽい気もしますが……

武具の買い付けで大損した時然り。
今回の黄銅石の高騰然り。
しっかりしているようで、実は抜けているロレンスは、
今回も突発的な儲け話に乗り遅れてますね。
まあ狡賢く立ち回り続けて、
莫大利益を稼ぐロレンスなんて想像出来ませんから、
彼はこれで良いんでしょう。

しかし気になるのは占い師とアマーティの動きが、
ちょっと都合良過ぎる気がするんですよね。
実はグルだったりするんでしょうかね？

そして、手紙を読んだことで真実を知ってしまったホロは、
今までのロレンスの配慮に欠けた言動も相俟って、
自暴自棄の状態に……
掛けるべき言葉が見つからないロレンスと、
そんなロレンスに不信感を募らせ、孤独に怯えるホロ。
二人はどんな答えを出すのだろうか？
しかし、前回ホロは字が読めないと言っていたのだが……
手紙の内容が判ったのは、
ディアナが特殊な書き方をしたからなのかな？

――わっちは、ぬしのなんなのじゃ！
もう、この一言にホロの気持ちの全てが凝縮されている気がしますね。
次回はニヤニヤ出来るでしょうか？それとも……
