戦う司書 The Book of Bantorra 第１話

２００９年１０月放送開始アニメの感想。
今回は戦う司書です。

第１話-爆弾と本と沈み行く船-

山形石雄原作　集英社発行　集英社スーパーダッシュ文庫ライトノベルのアニメ化作品

『本』
それは亡くなった人間の記憶や想いが、
「化石」という形を持って生まれてくるもの。
死した人間の一生を刻み付けた、魂の記録。
そして本の回収と管理を担っているのは、武装司書と呼ばれる者たちである。

本を管理するバントーラ図書館の館長代行を勤めるハミュッツ＝メセタは、
神溺教団が保有する船「白猿号」を独自に調査すると共に、
教団内部の調査と証拠品の押収、
そして教団が「肉」と呼ぶ奴隷たちの解放を名目として、
配下の武装司書を船へ送り込むが、
教団は「肉」に直接爆弾を埋め込んだ人間爆弾を用いて、
武装司書たちに抵抗を試みる。

人一倍正義感の強い武装司書・ヴォルケン＝マクマーニは、
人の命を道具と同列にみなす教団のやり方に怒りを覚える。

教団の抵抗を排し、白猿号の武力制圧を完了した一同。
しかし、ヴォルケンは船内を探索中に
「ベンド＝ルガーは生きている。オリビア＝リットレットの心に生きている」
という謎のメッセージを見つけ、
同時に高みの見物をしていたハミュッツが動き出す。

そして、解放した奴隷たちの救助作業を始めたその時、
船内で謎の爆発が起こり、船は海中へと没していくのだった。

というのが第１話のおおまかなあらすじです

地上波ONLYな方々はごめんなさい、な作品。
この作品も前評判はなかなか良い感じでしたね。
正直「よくわからないなんとか」のせいで、
スーパーダッシュ文庫の作品は視聴意欲が低下していたんですが、
これはある意味正統派ファンタジーって感じです。

正義感が強すぎるきらいがあるヴォルケンに、
生真面目な優等生っぽいミレポック＝ファインデルを始め、
一癖も二癖もありそうな武装司書の面々。
物語の中心人物であり、恐らく最重要人物でもあるハミュッツ。

そして欲望を追求し、ハミュッツの抹殺を目論む教団の面々。
教団対武装司書という、構図としてはシンプルで判りやすいですね。

２００年前の災厄の元凶ともなった、
「常笑いの魔女」ことシロン＝ブーヤコーニッシュ。
そして彼女の本を偶然にも手に入れてしまったコリオ＝トニスは、
今後どうなっていくのか？
そしてハミュッツが語る「自分を殺してくれるかもしれない男」とは？

続きが気になりますね。

スーパーダッシュ文庫は、これとか『カンピオーネ！』とか面白い作品もあるんですけど、何故か『アキカン！』とか『よくわかる現代魔法』とかが先にアニメ化されちゃいましたね。

このシリーズは、もう完結が見えているらしいので最後まできちんと描いてくれるのではないかなぁ、と思います。1話を流し見した感じでは結構良い感じだと感じたので、今後にも期待したいところです。

現代魔法……視聴して無駄だったなと感じた作品。

今回は珍しく良作ですねw
アニマックス放送のアニメは、比較的当たりが多いと思います。
地上波から持ってきたのは、ハズレもありますがw
