刀語 第１話

刀語の第１話を見ました。
というわけで、感想です。

第１話-絶刀・鉋-

西尾維新原作　講談社発行　講談社BOXライトノベルのアニメ化作品

虚刀流……
それは戦国乱世の時代に存在した、刀を用いない最強の剣法。
その虚刀流６代目当主である鑢 六枝(やすり むつえ)は、
奥州で幕府に対し反旗を翻した飛弾 鷹比等(ひだ たかひと)を討ち、
大乱終結の英雄として祭られる一方で、
その力を恐れた時の将軍・家鳴 匡綱(やなり まさつな)は、
六枝をその家族共々流刑に処していた。

それから２０年。
虚刀流の６代目当主・六枝を訊ねて流刑地を訪れた自称・奇策士のとがめは、
六枝の息子で７代目当主でもある鑢七花と、
その姉の七実から六枝が１年前に亡くなった事を知らされるが、
現当主である七花に対し、
戦国時代を席巻した刀鍛冶・四季崎 記紀(しきざき きき)が作った、
１２本の変体刀集めを依頼するのだった。

刀集めのためにわざわざ虚刀流の力を借りたいという、
とがめの真意が見えてこない七実と七花だったが、
過去にとがめが忍者と武士に回収を依頼し、
そのまま刀を持ち逃げされた経緯を知る。

お金や名誉で動く人間は信用できないが、
愛で動く人間ならば信用できる、と豪語するとがめ。
そんな折、とがめを裏切って１２本の一つである「絶刀・鉋」を持ち逃げし、
他の変体刀の行方を追う真庭忍軍の蝙蝠から、襲撃を受けてしまう。
誰にも行く先を告げずに来たにも拘らず、
蝙蝠に尾行されていた事に驚くとがめだったが、
「本当に一人で来たのか？」という七実の追求で、
島に渡る際に雇った船頭に化けていた可能性に思い当たるのだが……

とまあ、西尾維新作品のアニメ化計画第２弾である刀語。
毎月１回１時間で、１２ヶ月かけて全１２話を放送するわけですが、
第１クールの放送は全て月曜日なため、
放送時間がソラヲトと完全に被ってしまい、困ってしまったりもしますが……
月１放送なので、そこは我慢するとしましょうかね。

自称・奇策士のとがめ。
自分で自分のことを普通ではないと称していましたが、
叛乱を企てた父親を、目の前で六枝に殺されたりという、
生い立ちも去ることながら、
蝙蝠に尾行された理由を七実に言われるまで気付かなかったり、
木に縛り付けられた際に縄を抜けようとして逆様になるなど、
確かに色々な意味で普通じゃあないですね。
最後まで練習して来い、とか、内心で突っ込まれるほどですし……
しかし、彼女の左目が変わる理由とは何なんでしょうね？

とがめに刀の蒐集を依頼され、裏切った真庭の蝙蝠。
折れない刀である絶刀・鉋の所有者でもあるわけですが、
なかなか饒舌の喧しいキャラクターですね。
骨格から全てを作り変えて、
本物そっくりに化ける能力を有しているビックリ人間の蝙蝠ですが、
とがめと入れ替わって七花を殺そうと画策するも、
七花自身はとがめと蝙蝠の区別が元々出来ていなかったことから、
全く持って無意味な策略でしたね。
七花を真似て同じ姿になるものの、
虚刀流の剣士の特性である「刀を使えない」という部分も模写したことで、
結局七花に敗れてしまったわけですが……
また再登場するのかな？

成り行きとはいえ、とがめに協力して刀集めに赴く事となった七花。
残りの１１本の行方とは？
そして、七花のことを「弱い」と言い切る七実の実力とは？
