後半戦開始

先日、ネットでスポーツ関連の某コラムに於いて、「神奈川県の高校野球に元気が無い」
という趣旨の内容が書かれていたが、その内容がちょっと失笑を禁じえなかったです。
まあ、確かに関東大会では初戦敗退とか演じているわけで、致し方ない部分もあるわけですが、
選抜優勝の東海大相模が本命ではあっても、対抗となる横浜が強いとは云えない云々。
その横浜は秋季大会で東海大相模に勝っていますし、現在行われている地方予選でも、
５回戦で勝っていますからね。
春季大会では横浜と当たる前に東海大相模は公立校の戸塚に破れていますけど……
その「元気が無い」といわれた神奈川県大会もベスト４が出揃いました。
桐光学園がある意味では順当に勝ちあがり、
桐蔭学園は昨年ベスト４の武相を延長戦の末に下し、
東海大相模を下した横浜が戸塚を破って勝ち上がった立花学園に辛くも勝利し、
横浜桜陽との延長再試合を制した横浜創学館も向上相手に快勝。
優位なのは桐光学園か横浜創学館でしょうかね。


さて、プロ野球はセ・リーグもいよいよ今日から後半戦開始。
７月に入ってからは嫌というほど連敗を喫し、気が付けば３位とは既に８ゲーム差。
クライマックスシリーズ出場すら危うい状況になってきた横浜ベイスターズとしては、
苦手のビジターで勝ち星を増やしてまずは最下位脱出を目指したいところ。
その横浜ベイスターズ後半戦最初の相手は、
統一球の影響もあってか４位と低迷する読売ジャイアンツとの３連戦。
苦手なビジターゲームとは云えども、現時点では直接的な順位を争う相手だけに負けられない。
そんな本日の読売対横浜第７回戦は
横浜　１－０　読売　で、ベイスターズの勝利です


本日の先発は横浜が前半戦の崩壊した先発陣で孤軍奮闘した高崎、
対する読売の先発は昨年同様に勝ち星を伸ばせないゴンザレス。
オールスターを挟んで再開されたペナントレース、
巻き返しを図るためには先手を奪っていい形で後半戦のスタートを切りたいところ。
横浜は初回に１番下園のヒットと２番石川の送りバント、３番金城の進塁打でチャンスを作るも、
４番村田はセンターフライに倒れて先制機を逸するが、
先発の高崎は１死から２番高橋由にツーベースを打たれるも、
３番ラミレス・４番長野を落ち着いて打ち取り無失点に切り抜けると徐々に波に乗っていく。

３回まで走者を出しながらもチャンスを広げることが出来ずにいた横浜だったが４回表、
初回のチャンスで凡退した村田がヒットで出塁すると、
５番ハーパーのレフトへのヒットで３塁を陥れて１死１・３塁と絶好のチャンスを作り出し、
６番スレッジが犠牲フライを放って待望の先制点を奪う。
その後もチャンスを作り出しながら併殺打に倒れるなど拙攻が続いた横浜だったが、
高崎・篠原・江尻が走者を許しながらも得点を与えるどころか３塁を踏ませずに抑えこむと、
８回を牛田・９回を山口が３人づつ仕留めて巨人打線を完璧に封じ込めて試合終了。
虎の子の１点を守りきった横浜が勝利を納め、高崎は今シーズン４勝目を手にした。


７月に入ってからホームですら勝てなくなって連敗続き、絶望感さえ漂った前半戦ですが、
オールスターが明けて後半戦最初の試合、それもビジターゲームで勝利というのは大きいですね。
１９まで膨らんだ借金ですが、一つづつでも返済するためにはまず連敗しないことが重要。
その為には３連戦の初戦を取るというのは大きな意味があると思います。
ともかく、本来中継ぎの投手を先発に回さざるを得ないほどに駒不足に泣いた横浜ですが、
三浦・清水・大家に目処が立ったのは大きなプラス材料なので、巻き返しを期待したいところ。
さて、明日の試合はどうなることやら……
