奏光のストレイン

最近見た昔のアニメの感想。
今回は奏光のストレインのお話です

-奏光のストレイン-
スタジオ・ファンタジア原作のオリジナルロボットアニメ作品。
２００６年１１月から２００７年２月まで放送　全１３話。
放送時期と連動して月刊誌ドラゴンエイジにて、コミック版も連載された。

人類がユニオンとディーグと呼ばれる二つの陣営に別れて、戦争を行っていた時代。
ユニオンが誇る高速機動兵器ストレインのリーズナー(パイロット)を目指すセーラは、
グラベラ空間機甲兵科学院に通っていたが、
ある日学院は敵対勢力であるディーグの奇襲を受けてしまう。
ストレインで迎撃に出たセーラだったが、彼女の前に立ち塞がったのは、
ユニオンのエースでありセーラの兄でもある、ラルフ・ウィーリックだった。
友人を殺され、自身もストレイン起動の核となるミミックを破壊されたセーラは、
兄がユニオンを裏切ったことを知らされる。

というのが第１話の大まかなあらすじですね。

ロボットによる戦争ものって感じですが、準主役級でもあっさり死んじゃったりと、
人の死がかなり軽く描かれている感じがしますね。
まあ、それが戦争の残酷さと言えなくも無いんですが……

裏切り者の妹という立場から、経歴や名前を偽って別の学校に入るセーラ。
配属された演習艦での実戦だったりと、まあ良くあるパターンが使われています。
ストレインの秘密と、ラルフの目的が出てくるのは最終話近くなので、
最後の展開がかなり駆け足になっていますね。
敵対勢力であるディーグが、
完全にストレインの秘密から目を逸らせるだけの存在と化していて、
この作品は無理やり完結させたようにしか思えないです。
一言で言っちゃえば、
演出の仕方が、残念!!
って事になります。

個人的感想では、駄作の部類に入るかな……
川澄さんが出ていなかったら、絶対に最後まで見なかった自信はありますね。
私にとっては本当に暇潰しアニメでしかありませんでした。

I will under no circumstances forget about the Pitt game as soon as the Pitt punter was grabbed within the endzone and hoisted in to the group. I noticed the ref blow his whistle and run in direction of the stands and possess often pictured him screaming, “Put the punter back again!”
