２００９年９月終了アニメの感想。
今回はPhantomです。

-Phantom 〜Requiem for the Phantom〜-

NITORO＋原作　１８禁ハードボイルドADVゲームのアニメ化作品
２００９年４月から同年９月まで放送　全２６話

アメリカ裏社会で着実に勢力を拡大する組織・インフェルノ。
そのインフェルノには「最強の殺し屋」と称される、
ファントムと呼ばれる人物が存在した。

吾妻 玲二はアメリカ旅行中、
偶然からファントムによる殺人現場を目撃してしまい、
その命を狙われることになる。
ファントムを作り出したサイス・マスターによって捕らえられ、
過去の記憶を奪われた玲二。
そんな彼の前に現れた、「アイン」と呼ばれる少女。
彼女こそが最強の殺し屋として名高い、ファントムだった。

というのが、第１話の大まかなあらすじですね。

この作品は１から１０話がアイン編、
１１から２０話がツヴァイ編、２１話以降がドライ編、
と全部で３つのシナリオに分かれています。

江漣(アイン)派とキャル(ドライ)派に分かれると思いますが、
私は江漣派だったりします。
別にキャルが嫌いなわけではないですがw
しかし、年齢不詳キャラが多いですね。
江漣と玲二なんか、高校生でも普通に違和感ないし、
キャルは２年で別人のように成長しちゃってるし……
というか、キャルは成長しすぎでしょうw

感情を失っていたアインが、江漣という名を与えられ、
徐々に感情を取り戻していく様子が好みだったりします。
(あくまでも、個人的に、ね)
記憶だけを奪われた玲二、記憶と感情を奪われた江漣、
逆に玲二に対する憎悪だけを増幅されたキャル。
三者三様のファントム。
リズィは優しくて色々と気が付く人なんだけど、
その優しさゆえに死んでしまうのが悲しいですねえ。

サイスとファントムを利用して、
組織の中でのし上がっていこうとしたクローディア。
サイスを欺き、まんまと玲二をファントムに仕立て上げたものの、
結局サイスの逆襲によって裏切り者になり、
志半ばで退場してしまいましたね。

で、そのサイスはマグワイアすら始末するのかと思いきや、
ファントムにしか興味は無いようで……
この人も手の内を知っている江漣に殺されることに。
ちょっとあっけない気もするけれど、
一応芯の部分はぶれていなかったですね。

最後の最後、江漣と玲二の死亡は衝撃的でしたね。

メインキャラに救いがねえ!!!!!

原作未プレイですが原作シナリオ担当の虚淵玄さんが、
「バッドエンド症候群」を自称していたのは知っていたので、
この最後は予め予測できていましたが、
それでもやはり衝撃でした。

賛否両論出そうではありますが、
私はありきたりなハッピーエンドよりも良かったと思います。
寧ろ救いを与えなかったことで、
作品自体の重みというか、質をきちっと保ったまま終わっていますので。

個人的感想としては、今期１・２を争うほどの良作だと思いますよ。
見逃しちゃった方には、DVD等で補完する事をお勧めします。

バッドエンドでしたか。もう随分前に原作であるPC版ゲームを遊んだんですが、確かラストはハッピーエンドだった記憶しかないんですよね。玲二に振り向いた江漣の笑顔のアップからエンドロール、だったと。いわゆるノワール系の物語では珍しいなと思った覚えがあります。

比較的ハッピーエンドが多い中、
この作品はバッドエンドでしたね。
最後の最後で殺されて、玲二も江漣も救いがありません。
まあ、「死こそが二人にとって究極の救い」と考えれば、
ハッピーエンドと言えなくも無いですが、
その解釈には無理がある展開でしたので……
江漣の過去も取り戻せず、
未来を築くことも出来ない終わり方ですから、
やはりバッドエンドでしょう。
