Fate/Zeroの第１２話を見ました。
英雄王・騎士王・征服王。
酒宴という名の三人の戦いに敗れたセイバーだったが……

-#12　聖杯の招き-

それが英雄王の不興を買う行為と知ってか知らずか、言峰綺礼に命じてアサシンを総動員して
ライダーにぶつける事で、ライダーの奥の手とも云える宝具・王の軍勢を暴き出した遠坂時臣は、
ライダーへの対抗策を模索しながらもアーチャーを動員した殲滅戦に打って出ることを決意する。

捕り逃したケイネスを追って城を離れていた衛宮切嗣は結局止めを刺す事が出来ず、拠点とし
ているホテルに戻り負傷で城に留まっていた久宇舞弥から城を離れた後の顛末とライダーの宝
具・王の軍勢の情報を得る。
集めた情報を元に現状と今後の方針に対する分析を開始する切嗣だったが、その中で綺礼の
目的だけが見えてこない事に苛立ちを覚えるのだった。

一方で度重なる襲撃とライダーの訪問によって結界を根こそぎ破壊され、拠点としての機能を
失った城を放棄する事となったアイリスフィールとセイバーは、不測の事態に備えて予め切嗣が
用意していた新たな拠点へと案内される。
だがアイリスフィールが朝から普段と様子が異なると感じながらも敢えて黙殺していたセイバー
は、新拠点の結界敷設に関してすら自ら行おうとしない異常性を問い質し、彼女がホムンクルス
特有の構造的な欠陥故に身体機能の一部が不自由な状態にあることを知る。

その頃、聖杯戦争に於ける時臣の弟子としての役割を終えた綺礼は、アーチャーから頼まれ、
アサシンに調査させていた他のマスターの情報を報告していたのだが……

というのが第１２話の大まかなあらすじですね。
今回の用語解説は少なめです。
未使用の令呪
令呪とは聖杯に選ばれた魔術師に与えられ、それ自体が膨大な魔力を秘めた代物であり、サ
ーヴァントを従える証であると同時に聖杯戦争への参加資格を示す代物でもある。
一人のマスターに対して一度に与えられる令呪の数は最大３つであり、保有する令呪の数だけ
サーヴァントを自身の命令に強制的に従わせる事が可能となるが、全てのマスターが必ず３つ
の令呪を消費するわけではなく、令呪を使用することなく敗北する事もある。
聖杯はサーヴァントを失ったマスター、或いは死亡したマスターから未使用の令呪を回収して、
参加者に欠員(正確にはサーヴァントが健在のままマスターが死亡したケース)が出た場合は、
新たなマスターが選定されて回収された未使用の令呪が与えられる。
工房
所謂、魔術工房の事。
魔術の実験や開発、更には魔術行使を行うために用意された部屋や建物のことで、魔術師の
拠点には必須となる代物。
魔力が外に漏れ出すのを極力抑えるため、工房は石やレンガ・土で囲われた密閉空間が望ま
しいようである。実際、遠坂と間桐の工房はそれぞの屋敷の地下に作られている。
ホムンクルスの構造的欠陥
ホムンクルスとは魔術によって生み出された人工の生命体であり、普通の人間とはそもそもの
体の構造が異なっている。例えば骨折した場合は普通の人間ならば骨の接合を行うわけだが、
ホムンクルスの場合は新たな骨を生成して折れた骨と丸ごと取り替えるという、いわば機械修
理的な治療法が可能な反面、普通の人間のような治療が有効なのかどうかは未知数である。
その為、体調不良を五感の一つである触覚を意図的に遮断する事で補っているが、触覚を遮
断しているために力を込める事が出来ない、というのがアイリスフィールの説明になる。


最初の茶番以来ずっと屋敷に引き篭もっていたため、全体的に見てもそれほど出番に恵まれて
はいない時臣さんですが、アサシンを失った事でいよいよ本格的に参戦を決意。
とはいっても、また暫く出番無しになるであろう事は明白なんですが……
なんていうか、時臣さんって敵役四天王のリーダーっぽい位置付けの印象が強いですね。
所謂、偉そうにしているけど意外と弱いキャラ、みたいな……
少なくとも、最初は敵だけど主人公達に負けてその後主人公に協力して戦う、というクロコダイ
ルさん的やヒュンケルさん的なポジションには居ないよね、と。
でもまあ、なんとかっていう御三家出身の落伍者さんよりは出番がありましたけど……
あとギルガメッシュ、前回ではイスカンダルに遅かったとか云われてましたが、結構移動速度は
速かったですね。アサシンがやられた現場に居たのに、綺礼が時臣への報告を終えて自室に
戻った時には既に言峰教会に居るという事実。
ギルが遅かったのではなく、実はイスカンダルの宝具の移動速度が速過ぎるだけだった可能性
がありますね。

体調不良だからって触覚遮断しているアイリスフィール。
簡単に五感を遮断できるアイリさん凄いですが、アイリさんの体調不良はどうやら単純なもので
は無い様子ですね。
セイバーさんも薄々気付いていながら、詳しく追求するのを躊躇っている感じでしたし……

ギルガメッシュとお話の綺礼は、他のマスターの報告を終えたものの徒労に付き合わされたこと
で少々ご立腹。
まあ、色々と骨を折った挙句に実は意味なんて無かったんだよ、って言われればそれは怒りたく
もなりますが、ギルガメッシュの狙いはもっと別のところ。
つまりは娯楽のあり方の一つを示すものだった、というわけだったんですね。
そして綺礼の右手に再び浮かび上がる令呪と、それを予期していたかのようなギルガメッシュの
口ぶり。
まるで時臣を殺せといわんばかりのギルガメッシュの態度でしたが、果たして綺礼の選択は？
