とある科学の超電磁砲 第１１話

超電磁砲の第１１話を見ました。遂に真犯人へと辿り着いた美琴と黒子。
幻想御手をばら撒いた木山の真の目的とは？

第１１話-木山せんせい-

木山に拉致された初春は、
幻想御手が複数の能力者の脳をリンクさせることで演算装置を作り出し、
簡易的な樹形図の設計者(ツリー・ダイアグラム)
とするためのプログラムであること、
実験が終われば被害者たちを解放することを聞かされ、
その証拠として幻想御手のアンインストール用制御チップを渡される。

警備員の検問によって捕捉された木山と初春。
だが、警備員たちが木山を拘束しようとした瞬間、
彼女は使えないはずの能力を用いて、
逆に警備員たちを全滅させてしまう。

木山を止めるために現場に駆けつけた美琴だったが、
１万人の学生の脳とリンクし、多才能力(マルチスキル)を操る木山の前に、
次第に劣勢へと追い込まれていく。
だが、騙し討ちによる零距離からの電撃を浴びせて、
一気に形勢を逆転させた美琴だったが、
電気を通して一時的に繋がった木山の記憶から、
彼女がAIM拡散力場の暴走に関する人体実験に係わっていた事を知ってしまう。

木山の過去、そして幻想御手をばら撒いた目的が判明した今回。
学園都市に置き去りにされた子供たちを被検体として行われた、
AIM拡散力場の制御・暴走に関する実験。
その実験で意識不明となった子供たちの快復と、事故原因の究明のために、
２３回申請し、却下されてきた樹形図の設計者の使用許可。
その代替演算装置として、幻想御手を用いるためにばら撒いたわけですが、
統括理事会肝煎りの計画、という時点で、
当然ながら木山の申請は却下されるわけですね。

都市外部の技術力は３０年近く遅れているうえに、
樹形図の設計者は一台しか存在していないわけで、
それに匹敵するスパコンを新しく作り出している余裕も無いでしょうね。
そこで木山が目を付けたのは、学園都市内の学生だった、と。
使うと能力のレベルが上がる、という触れ込みで幻想御手をばら撒き、
使用した学生の脳波をリンクさせて巨大な演算装置を作り出す。
学園都市総人口２３０万人のうち、学生が８割程度だとして、
美琴たちレベル５を対象から除外しても１８０万人以上。
そこから風紀委員たちを更に差し引いても、
使用する可能性のある対象は軽く１００万人を越えますからね。

木山が幻想御手による脳波のリンクという方法に、
どうやって辿り着いたのかに関しては、
１２話で語られると思うので今回は敢えて伏せておきます。

これまで美琴は高レベル能力者との戦闘経験が殆ど無いはずですが、
能力での戦闘がなかなか様になっていますね。
今までの相手は(上条さん以外)実力差が開きすぎていて、
美琴が一方的に相手を叩きのめす展開でしたが、
今回はようやくバトルらしいバトルが展開されてます。
例えるなら、今までハイマットで敵を一掃していたフリーダムが、
ビームサーベルで近接戦を行うようなものかな？
まあ、美琴と木山の実力差は、フリーダムとプロヴィデンスというより、
ストフリとレジェンドの力関係かと思いますがw

色々な意味で不幸を背負い込んでいる木山。
美琴の電撃を無効化したり、砂鉄を使った攻撃を防いだりと、
１万人分の能力を使えるとはいえ、なかなか器用に使いこなしてますね。
念動と量子加速の併用とか、空間移動と量子加速の併用など、
正攻法では無理と判断するや、あっさりと次の手を打てるのは、
やはり幻想御手の演算能力もあるんでしょうね。

驚きなのは若い頃の木山先生には、目の下に隈が無いこと！(そこか？)
ただ、人前で脱ぐっていうのは昔からのようですが、
小学生からペチャパイと言われた時にはショック受けてましたね。
人参嫌いなのも、意外と言えば意外ですが……
被験者が助かる見込みの無い意図的な暴走実験と、
それを知ったときの木山の心情を慮れば、
彼女の行動には一定の理解は示せるかな。
完全に無関係ではないとはいえ、半強制的に他人を巻き込むやり方は、
あまり褒められた手段ではありませんが……

アンインストール用のプログラムを託された初春。
そして木山の制御を離れ、ネットワークが暴走を開始し、
怪物を生み出してしまった幻想御手。
次回はいよいよ前半最後の山場となる幻想御手・決着編。
超能力者(レベル５)として超本気モードの美琴の活躍に期待です！

初春「臨床研究が十分でないモノを安全だと言われても、気休めにもならないじゃないですか！」

木山の心の古傷をえぐる、すばらしい一撃です。ｗ
初春のこういう黒い部分ってステキだなあ。

能力開発が無害で素晴らしいと思ってる一般市民(美琴のようなレベル５も含む)に対し、それが危険と隣り合わせの物であることに警鐘を鳴らすという意味では、これ以上のものはないかも。

もちろん、本来の目的はあくまで子供たちを救うということでしょうがね。しかし学園都市に住む学生は全て能力開発を行っており、彼らは既に「巻き込まれた人達」でもあったという事実は、最後の一歩を踏み出す心理的な敷居を下げたとは思いますよ。
