おまもりひまりの第８話を見ました。
くえすとの戦いで傷付いたひまりは……

第８話-Curiosity killed the cat-

くえすとの因縁に決着を付けるべく戦いに望んだ緋鞠は、
戦いの最中に愛刀の童子安綱を失い、
くえすの魔力によって妖としての本性を呼び覚まされるが、
辛うじて自制すると優人の元へと撤退していた。

緋鞠を追い詰めながらも、
本性を呼び起こしたことで窮地に追い込まれていたくえすは、
緋鞠が自主的に撤退したことで窮地を逃れる事に成功したものの、
戦闘の後始末を行っていた鏑木から、
派手に炎の魔法を使用した事と、
１８発もの弾丸を使ったことを咎められてしまう。

自身の暴走を辛うじて食い止めたものの、
感情に流された軽率な行動を悔いる緋鞠は、
暴走の引き金となった自身の中に残るくえすの魔力を、
強制的に抜き取るために特殊な丸薬を呑むのだが、
緋鞠のことが心配で傍についていようとした優人は、
丸薬によってネコ化した緋鞠に襲い掛かられる事となる。

翌日、失われた安綱の代わりを求め、
予め野井原の倉の目録を送るよう頼んでおいた緋鞠の元に、
文車妖姫が訊ねてくる。
一方くえすに対する自身の曖昧な態度から、
緋鞠を危険な目に遭わせてしまったことを悔いる優人は、
自分の考えをはっきりと伝えるため、
一人でくえすの元を訪れるのだが……

というわけで、くえすに関するトラブルも今回が一応の決着編。

今までは単に地位の向上や復権のために優人を狙っていた、
と思われていたくえすですが、そんなものは２の次で、
実は幼い頃に優人と交わした約束、
優人がくえすの背中を守り、共に鬼斬り役として戦う、
という誓いこそが彼女の行動理由であることが判明しました。
まあ、くえすとしてみれば、
その約束を果たすためだけに頑張ってきたというのに、
肝心の優人はその約束を忘れたばかりか、
くえすを否定してしまっているわけで……
おまけに緋鞠以外にも妖を身の回りに置いている状況では、
やはり面白くないわけですね。

とはいえ、単に傲慢な我侭お嬢様かと思いきや、
緋鞠たちに対しては優人の敵に回りたくないという思いもあるものの、
執行猶予という形で監視するだけに留めたり、
譲歩するだけの度量も持ち合わせているようですが、
あくまでも私情が絡まなければ、と言ったところでしょうかね。

最後にデレたものだから、緋鞠からツンデレか？と突っ込まれたくえす。
結局彼女は今後もツンデレキャラで通すのでしょうかね？

くえすの魔力を抜くために丸薬を呑んでネコ化した緋鞠。
本人的には暴れると言うよりじゃれているような印象ですが、
擬人化状態のため「盛りの付いた」という形容詞が似合いそうな感じ。

くえすに自分の想いを伝えに行った優人は、
逆上した(ふりの)くえすから襲われ、力を発動させると同時に、
くえすとの約束を思い出す事に。
一応くえすからの譲歩を引き出すことには成功したものの、
忘れていたとはいえ結構酷い言い分だったかも。

くえすに関する騒動が一段落を迎え、
一応の平穏を取り戻した優人の周辺だったが……
妖を食べる妖の影、果たしてこの人物の正体とは？
