奇跡は、起こらず……

４月２日マツダスタジアムでの広島対読売１回戦、
試合の練習中にくも膜下出血で突然倒れた木村拓也一軍内野守備・走塁コーチ。
病院に搬送されたものの意識が戻らず、
危険な状態が続いているとのことで心配していたのですが、
本日未明にお亡くなりになられました。

１９９０年に捕手としてドラフト外(今で言う育成選手枠)で、
日本ハムファイターズ(現・北海道日本ハムファイターズ)に入団した木村拓也コーチ。
守備力を買われて広島東洋カープへと移籍し、
ブラウン監督(現・東北楽天)の戦力構想から外れたことで読売へと移った、
投手以外の全てのポジションを守れる堅実な守備を持つユーティリティープレイヤー。
打撃面では際立って優秀とは言えぬもののスイッチヒッターに挑戦したり、
器用な一面を垣間見せる努力の人で相当の苦労人。
本職は捕手ながら、捕手としての出場は少なく、二塁手としてが一番多い。
足も速く、肩が強いので守備範囲は広く、本職の二塁手や遊撃手と同等か、
それ以上の守備力を持っている。
堅実な守備と投手以外のポジションをこなせる実力を買われ、
アテネオリンピックでは日本代表にも選ばれた選手でした。

昨シーズンの日本シリーズで引退し、
今年から一軍の内野守備・走塁コーチに就任した木村拓也コーチ。
まだ３７歳という若さだっただけに、とても残念です。

本日の試合は結果だけに留めさせていただきます。
横浜対中日第２回戦は、
中日　２－０　横浜　で、ドラゴンズの勝利です……
先発は横浜がランドルフ、中日は小笠原でした。

木村選手の容態は私も毎日気になってニュースを見てました。
本当に残念でなりませんね。
いいコーチになれる才能があっただけに本当に残念。

未だに信じられないと言う感じです。
まだ37歳なのになぁ…
