ダンスインザヴァンパイアバンドの第２話を見ました。
ヴァンパイアの王を名乗るミナ、その目的とは？

第２話-ハウリング-

東京湾に浮かぶ第零号埋立地を買収し、
そこに新たなるバンドを築くと宣言した、
ヴァンパイアの王を名乗るミナ・ツェペッシュの出現から数日。
世間ではミナとヴァンパイアの話題で事欠くことは無かった。

一年前にとある事故で記憶を失った高校生の鏑木アキラは、
そんな世間の浮かれ方から一線を引きながらも、
吸血鬼という単語に奇妙な違和感を抱きながら生活していたが、
ある日お忍びでアキラの高校を訪れていたミナと遭遇する。
その直後、アキラは激しい頭痛に襲われて苦しみだすのだが、
第三者の接近を感じ取ったミナは、
アキラを助けることを諦めてその場を逃げ出してしまう。

放課後、事故の後遺症を心配したクラスメイトの三枝由紀から、
きちんと医者に診察してもらうよう言い含められたアキラだが、
帰途に着くアキラの前に、再びミナが姿を現す。

存在を無視しながらも、
倒れこんだミナを無意識のうちに助け起こそうとしたり、
刺客に狙われるミナを庇おうとする自分の行動に、
アキラは釈然としないものを感じながらも、
刺客の追跡から逃れるためにミナと逃亡を図る。

さて、途中で遮られてしまいましたが今回の第２話冒頭で語られている、
ドラキュラ公ことヴラド三世ですが、
１５世紀のルーマニアに実在した人物です。
別名を串刺し公とも言い、オスマン帝国軍(現在のトルコ)の侵攻から、
ワラキア公国を守った英雄でもありますが、
オスマン帝国軍の兵士を生きたまま串刺しの刑に処したことから、
串刺し公と呼ばれるようになったという話もある人物ですね。

実際にもドラキュラ公と呼ばれていたようですが、
こちらは「～ア」というのが「～の息子」という意味を持っていること、
(これはスロバキアなどの国の人の名前に付く、
「～ビッチ」が「～の息子」という意味を持っているのと全く同じことですね)
父親のヴラド２世がドラクル(竜公、或いは悪魔公の意)と呼ばれていたため、
ドラクルの息子＝ドラクレア(英語ではドラキュラになる)だったためですね。

ちなみに我々が良く知る空想上のドラキュラ伯爵は、
ブラム・ストーカーがヴラド三世をモデルの一人に選んだことでも有名ですが、
その理由は恐らく前述の残酷とも言える串刺し刑と共に、
当時のオスマン帝国と対立していたハンガリー王が、
十字軍で自国の戦力を削られることで劣勢に立たされるのを回避するため、
ヴラド三世の利敵行為による背信の冤罪を仕立て、
その信憑性を高めるために捏造された悪行の一つである、
「人を無差別に殺し、その血肉を食らって晩餐を開いた」というものでしょうね。
重ねて言いますが、これはあくまで十字軍への派兵回避のために、
ヴラドを幽閉するための口実としてでっち上げられたものらしいですよ。

もう一つ補足すると、ヴラドとは竜の子を意味する言葉だそうで、
第１話でミナが言っていた事はあながち間違いではないわけですね。
尤も、ミナが言うヴラド・ツェペッシュとヴラド三世は別人ですが、
この作品の設定上はどうなっているかは不明です。

冒頭の回想シーンでアキラとミナに接点があったことが判明した今回。
その中でのミナの登場シーン。
「一つ、人の世の生き血を啜り、二つ、不埒な悪行三昧、
三つ、醜いこの世の鬼を、退治てくれよう桃太郎」
というのが桃太郎侍の口上なんですけど、
とりあえず、アキラの前に２度目の登場をしたときのミナの口上が、
ものの見事に桃太郎侍だったわけですが、
そもそも何故桃太郎侍を知っているのか？という疑問が無きにしも非ず。
ずっと昔から日本に居たのなら、話は別でしょうけど……
(全く関係無いけど今回は桃太郎侍ネタがあったので書きますが、
個人的には高橋秀樹さんと松平健さんは時代劇の二大ヒーローだと思います。
桃太郎侍と暴れん坊将軍はなかなか面白かった。
尤も、シリーズが進むと暴れん坊将軍は酷くて見れなくなりますが……orz)

さてさて、前回ヴェラトゥースの発言に、
下位の吸血鬼は上位の吸血鬼の命令には抗えない、という件がありましたが、
今回蜘蛛男に襲われたミナは王としての権利で従えようとしたものの、
それが出来ませんでしたね。
ミナが持つ公主家の命令権もまた、
絶対のものではないことが早くも露呈したわけですが、
ミナが別口と言っていた事から、複数の組織に狙われているようで。
バンドを設立した目的の一つは戦うこと、と答えたミナですが、
彼女は何と戦おうとしているんでしょうね？

蜘蛛男との戦闘でかつての記憶を取り戻した感じがあるアキラ。
だが、彼が記憶を失うきっかけとは何だったのか？
そしてアキラを監視する素振りを見せていた男たちの正体は？

第１話を、圧巻のまま見終わった身としては、第２話に期待するところが大きいのですが、それは置いておいて……。
気になったので、手元の原作を見てみたのですが、ミナを始め番外編の新谷かおる氏の『クリスティ・ハイテンション』でのコラボ特別出演でも、「ブラド４世の直系」という表現をしています。
原作者の環氏はもちろん、新谷氏もこういう事には詳しい方と思われますので、敢えて歴史上の串刺し公・ブラド３世の直系、４世（が存在したのどうかまでは分かりませんが……）がヴァンパイヤの始祖という、設定なのかな？とも、思います。

ただ、新谷氏の描き方では明らかに４世の所業として、３世の串刺し事件を挙げているので、単なる双方の勘違いと言う事も考えられます。
ただ、ミナ・ブラドの行動や発言からは、やはり祖先は現ルーマニアのワラキア公だった、串刺し公ことブラド・ツェペシュ（ブラド３世）に由来するように、描かれていると思います。
もっとも、ミナ・ツェペシュ自身が、１９世紀始めには現在の姿で存在した事になっていますので、こうなってくるともうそもそもミナの両親？が存在するとすると、いつの人（魔族？）！？状態になります。

結局、何のお役にも立たない戯れ言で、申し訳ありません。

ヴラド３世の生い立ちを見ていくと、
幽閉時に婚姻も済ませているらしく、
４世が存在していてもおかしくない下地はあるため、
そこから取った可能性はありますね。
