だから、自滅は止めれ！

本日は参議院選挙の投票日、
当然ながら選挙権を有する私も投票に行ってきたわけなんですが、
しっかりと票は投じさせていただきました。
無論、何処の誰に投じたかを語るつもりはありませんが……

その投票結果が出るまで私の興味を引いていたのが本日のプロ野球。
本日も唯一のナイトゲームとなった横浜対阪神第１０回戦は、
横浜　３－７　阪神　で、タイガースの勝利です……


本日の先発は横浜が火曜日の中日戦で先発した大家が中４日で登板、
一方の阪神は初先発となるメッセンジャー。
メッセンジャーはブーチェック同様、先発に回って余計な力が抜けるのか？
それとも大家がのらりくらりと阪神打線をかわしていくのか？
そんな注目の立ち上がりは横浜が３番内川のヒット、４番村田が四球を選ぶが、
５番スレッジが凡退して無得点で終えると、
大家は１番鳥谷・２番平野・３番マートンを三者凡退に仕留める。

初回の攻防を見た限りで若干ながら大家に有利なれど、
お互いに攻め崩すのは苦労しそうな雰囲気があったのだが、
意外にも試合の均衡はあっさりと崩れ去る事となる。
２回裏に４番新井をセカンドフライに打ち取るが、
１死から５番ブラゼル・６番城島の連続ソロホームランで先制を許してしまうと、
続く３回裏には先頭の９番メッセンジャーの、なんでもないレフトフライをスレッジが落球。
鳥谷にライト前ヒットを許して迎えた平野の打席、
大家は平野をピッチャーゴロに打ち取り、誰もが２死３塁と思った矢先に、
大家がセカンドへ悪送球で無死満塁としてしまうと、
マートンにはライト前へのタイムリーヒット。
更に新井をセカンドゴロ併殺に打ち取ったはずが、
石川の悪送球で２塁ランナーの平野の生還まで許し、
ブラゼルにもタイムリーが飛び出して、横浜はミスの連続で６点のビハインドを背負う事になる。

大量失点を喫した直後の４回表、横浜は内川がソロホームランを放ち、
反撃の兆しを見せたのだがそれも長続きすることも無く、
２打席連発のソロホームランで点差を返すが焼け石に水。
７回裏に２番手の江尻が平野のツーベースと新井のタイムリーで１点を失い、
完全に試合を決められてしまう。
９回表に上園から８番橋本、代打・大西の連続四球、
更に上園の暴投と１番下園の犠牲フライで１点を返すが反撃はこれでお終い。
ミスの連続によって自滅したチームは最後まで息を吹き返すことが無く、
交通事故のような突発的なソロホームランと上園の自滅によって辛うじて点を奪っただけで、
最後まで阪神に対してまともに戦うことが出来ず力負けした。


正直、３回裏から見るのが辛かった今日の試合。
スレッジや大家のミスに関しては、何やってるんだか……というレベルで済んでいましたが、
マートンにタイムリーと新井の併殺崩れで３失点した瞬間、
今日の試合はもう終わったな、と諦めました。
打ち取ったはずの当たりが詰まって落ちるとか、そういう不運なヒットでの失点ではなく、
完全にエラー絡み、それも複数のエラーを立て続けにやって失点してますから、
一番やってはいけない失点の仕方です。
それで４失点を喫しているわけですから、勝てるわけが無いですね。
まあ、村田・スレッジ・ハーパーが大爆発してくれれば話は別ですが……

江尻は……いつになったら復活してくれるのか……
移籍直後のあの活躍は、本当に単なる確変だったのか？
もしそうなら、短い確変だったなあ、としか言いようが無いわけですが。

城島推薦で入団したメッセンジャー。
ここまで中継ぎではあまり結果が出ず、初先発となったわけですが、
残念ながら今日の試合は横浜が自滅したため判断は出来ませんね。


さて、横浜は明後日から広島との３連戦。
前回はものの見事に２連敗を喫してしまったわけですが、
最下位脱出のためには絶対に負け越せない相手。
ただし、マエケンと当たる可能性は非常に高いわけですが……
