とある魔術の禁書目録Ⅱの第３話を見ました。
天草式によって拉致されてしまったオルソラ=アクィナス、
法の書を解読できるという彼女を助けるため、天草式の拠点を襲撃する事となったのだが……
-#３ 天草式-
十字教の世界を終わらせることが出来るといわれる、
法の書の解読方法を見つけたオルソラ=アクィナス。
ステイルの芝居によって呼び出された当麻は、そうとは知らずにオルソラと出会い、
ステイルの元へとつれてきたのだが、ローマ正教に引き渡す直前、
隠密を主とする多角宗教融合型十字教・天草式十字凄教によってオルソラを拉致されてしまう。
インデックスの知識からオルソラを奪取した天草式が日本国内にある「渦」を利用した魔術、
縮図巡礼による逃走を図るであろうことを読んだ当麻たちは、
最も近い渦があるテーマパーク「パラレルスウィーツパーク」へと進攻し、
アニェーゼ率いるローマ正教の部隊が正面から天草式と戦闘している間に、
別働隊としてオルソラの救出と法の書の奪還の役割を担う事となるが、
ステイルから天草式の活動と前後して神裂火織が姿を消したことを知らされる。
世界に２０人と居ない「聖人」と呼ばれる特殊な存在であり、
限定的ながらも天使と互角の戦闘能力を有する神裂火織の介入の可能性を示唆され、
オルソラの救出を最優先事項として選択し、
行動を開始する当麻・インデックス・ステイルの三人。
しかし当麻はステイルからイギリス清教の十字架を預けられるも、
かつて三沢塾で相対した錬金術師・アウレオルス=イザードとの戦い同様、
囮として天草式を引き付ける役割を押し付けられてしまうのだが、
学園都市の対スキルアウトで培われた逃げ足で追手を退けると、
持ち前の悪運の強さから混乱に乗じて逃げ出したオルソラと再会し、
オルソラの懇願もあって預かっていた十字架をオルソラの首に掛けるのだった。
オルソラの身柄を確保し目的を達した当麻は、
縮図巡礼の使用期限である午前０時５分まで隠れるか、
それともテーマパークの敷地外へ脱出するか悩むのだが、そんな当麻とオルソラの前に、
ステイルと戦闘を繰り広げていた天草式十字凄教教皇代理・建宮斎字が現れ、
当麻とステイルにオルソラの返還を要求してくる。
魔術とも体術ともつかない天草式独自の不可思議な戦闘術でステイルを圧倒し、
当麻を翻弄してみせる建宮。
だがステイルが作り出した炎の剣を用いた、当麻を犠牲とする捨て身の攻撃と見せかけ、
幻想殺しの奇策による即興のコンビネーションで首謀者である建宮を撃破する。
しかし天草式とアニェーゼ部隊との戦闘が終息し、静けさを取り戻した園内に於いて、
建宮は当麻とインデックスに法の書をめぐる今回の事件の真相を語るのだった……
というのが第３話のおおまかなあらすじですね。
此処までかなり速い展開で進んでいるわけですが、その分かなりカットされた部分も多く、
残念ながら原作を読んでいない方々には、
２話でなんでオルソラは一人でうろついていたの？とか、
天草式が法の書を不要だという根拠って何？とか、謎が結構残っていると思いますが、
多分次回以降で明かされることは無いと思います。
そもそも、天草式ってどんな組織なの？という部分での説明の殆どが省かれてますしね。
第１期を含めて天草式についてアニメで判る部分というのは、
・神裂火織が教皇を務めていた日本の隠れ十字教組織である
・仏教・日本神道を融合させた多角宗教融合型十字教である
・秘匿性に優れ、日常生活の仕草や言葉に儀式を隠すため術式の解析が困難である
・日本国内限定の特殊移動法を用いて遠距離を瞬時に移動できる
・実働部隊は５０名程度の小規模な組織である
これくらいでしょうかね。
わざわざ天草式について触れた理由は勿論あります。
見ていない方には判りづらいと思いますが、見た方は多分お判りいただけるでしょう。
録画などが残っている場合はＢパートの部分だけでも見直していただければ……
原作読んでいる方は恐らく脳内補完が可能なのであまり気にしないと思いますが、
そうでない方はＢパートの建宮と当麻のやりとりに説得力の無さを感じると思います。
原作既読の私が極力客観的視点で見ても「説得力に欠ける」と感じるんですから、
原作未読でアニメのみの方々は一層感じると思います。
まあその理由はいたって単純で、天草式の本拠地は今の天草式のメンバーしか知らない、
という情報にアニメでは全くもって触れられていないからなんですけどね。
これは「守るべき場所の情報が他所に知られていないのに、
防衛用としての強力な力を持つ意味が無い」という、
法の書を欲していない理由の一つでもありかなりの比重を占める情報なんですが、
インデックスの説明も建宮の説明もこの部分が完全に抜け落ちてしまっているため、
建宮の説明は説得力に欠け、苦し紛れの言い訳になってしまっているんですよね。
正直、神裂の存在だけでは説得力に欠けてると思います。
１０万３０００冊の魔道書の知識披露のみならず、
今回は第１期ラストの風霧編同様に僅かながらも戦闘に貢献したインデックス。
次回は「もうインなんとかさんとは呼ばせない」とばかりに活躍しそうな雰囲気ですが、
果たしてどうなることやら……
そしてオルソラを確保したことでついに本性を剥き出しにしてきたアンジェレネ。
とはいえ、本性剥き出しと呼べるほど出番があったわけではないので、
ああいうキャラなんだと認識させた、というべきなんでしょうかねえ。
静まり返った園内に響き渡るオルソラの悲鳴。
