とある魔術の禁書目録Ⅱ ＃７

とある魔術の禁書目録Ⅱの第７話を見ました。
終わったはずの悪夢を呼び起こしかねない結標の行動。
妹達を守るため、そして上条当麻の献身を無益なものにしないため、
美琴は樹形図の設計者再建を目論む結標を追うのだが……


-#７　座標移動(ムーブポイント)-

レベル５(超能力者)の量産・軍事転用を目的とする量産能力者計画によって、
御坂美琴のＤＮＡマップから生み出された妹達(シスターズ)と、
レベル６を生み出すための戦闘実験である絶対能力進化計画(レベル６シフト)は、
インデックスの防御システムである自動書記(ヨハネのペン)が発動した、
竜王の殺息(ドラゴンブレス)を上条当麻らが上空へと逸らした事で、
７月３１日に樹形図の設計者(ツリーダイアグラム)を破壊し、
その後の詳細なシミュレーションデータの収集が不可能となり、
加えて８月２１日深夜には無能力者である上条当麻が、
学園都市第１位の超能力者である一方通行(アクセラレーター)に戦闘で勝利したことで、
計画そのものが中止へと追い込まれ、
それは御坂美琴や一方通行の悪夢の終わりとなるはずだった。

だが、学園都市を始めとした各国の研究機関は、
樹形図の設計者の破片回収のために次々とシャトルを打ち上げており、
樹形図の設計者の再建とそれに伴う実験の再開を危惧した美琴は、
残骸の回収に奔走する中で、樹形図の設計者再建を目論む結標淡希と対峙するのだが、
彼女の協力者達を盾にされて逃走を許してしまう。

強盗事件によって結標と対峙したことで、
偶然にも学園都市の闇の垣間見る事になった白井黒子は、
結標から受けた傷の応急処置を終えると、
風紀委員のパートナーである初春飾利からの情報と瞬間移動能力者の習性を利用し、
再び結標と対峙して自身が追った傷を正確にお返しする。
だが、相手の能力の特性を理解して挑んだ２度目の戦闘ではあるが、
夕方の戦闘で受けた傷と追跡のために能力を使用し過ぎた事から、
瞬間移動が出来ないほどに消耗し、
結標が瞬間移動させたテーブルや椅子に押しつぶされてしまう。

一方で、ミサカネットワークの情報から、
事態が悪化の一途を辿っていることを知った御坂妹(ミサカ１００３２号)は、
事態を収拾する為に上条当麻の部屋を訪れて協力を要請する。
その頃、結標は自身が学園都市を裏切って樹形図の設計者を再建する真の目的を明かし、
黒子を自身の仲間に引き入れようと働きかけるのだが……


というのが第７話の大まかなあらすじですね。
原作では１番ページ数が少ない８巻のストーリーなわけですが、
まさか文庫１冊分を２話に圧縮して纏めてくるとは思っても居ませんでしたよ。
ひょっとして超電磁砲で婚后さんを登場させてしまって、
禁書目録Ⅱで出番がカットされた分だけ中途半端になってしまった……
なんてことはありません、よね？

さて、色々と語っていく前にやはり禁書１期と超電磁砲のおさらいをしておかないと、
やはり理解し難い部分が多分にあると思いますね。
そもそもの発端は当麻とインデックスが、
樹形図の設計者を破壊してしまったこと(当人達は記憶が無いので知らない)に起因し、
更に美琴のクローンである妹達を一方通行と戦闘させることで、
一方通行をレベル６の能力者に進化させる計画を、当麻が一方通行との戦闘で勝利を納め、
計画の有益性を消去及び再検証不可能の事態に追い込んだことで、
妹達を殺害しての進化計画を中止させた、というのが第１期の妹達編。

そして中止になった計画の研究員だった天井亜雄(あまいあお)が、
膨大な借金のために外部組織に加担して妹達の上位個体である打ち止めを拉致し、
ウィルスを打ち込むことで残っている１万人近い妹達による叛乱を画策したのを、
一方通行が妨害したのが打ち止め編。

前回も書いたとおり、上記の二つのストーリーの続編となるのが、今回の残骸編です。
美琴としては自分のクローンが生み出され、
それが殺され続けていた事態を部外者である当麻の力をも借りて阻止した。
にも拘らず樹形図の設計者が再建され、同じ実験が繰り返される事態になれば、
それは即ち当麻のやったことは一時凌ぎの些細な抵抗だった事になるわけですね。
妹達にとってはより明確で、自分のためではなく美琴と当麻の努力を、
無駄なものにしないためという思考の元に動いていた節があります。
尤も、美琴は自分の問題でこれ以上当麻に重荷を背負わせることの無いよう、
自分ひとりで片をつけるつもりだったようですが、
御坂妹は最善の手段として当麻に協力を要請した、といったところでしょうかね。
そして一方通行は１万人以上の妹達を殺害した罪悪感を抱いていることもあり、
実験が再開されれば打ち止めが危険に晒される可能性は決して低くなく、
ミサカネットワークが使えなくなると能力はおろか、日常生活に支障をきたす、
という現実的な問題も含めて介入してくるわけで。
結標にとっての計算外は、一方通行が今回の一件に介入してきたことでしょね。

さて、レストランでの黒子と結標の戦闘ですが、
奇襲をかけてダメージを負わせたとはいえど、圧倒的に不利なのは黒子。
というのも、傷が完治していない状況下で瞬間移動を使って追いかけたわけですから、
ゲームで言うなればＭＰ無いから毒の治療を放置してダンジョンを進んでいったら、
強制戦闘に突入した、という状況に過ぎないわけですね。

そして判明した結標の目的。
自身の能力と事故に対する疑念、そして人間以外の能力発現の可能性。
それらを確認するために樹形図の設計者を再建しようとしていたわけですが、
人間以外での能力発現の可能性については０ではない、としかいえませんが、
彼女が抱えていたもう一つの疑問である、人間でなければならない理由とは、
『人間でなければ意思疎通が出来ないから』というのが一つと、
『他の生物の場合は人間に対して能力を用いて牙をむく可能性もあるから』でしょうね。
意志の疎通が図れなければ能力の発現が偶発的なものなのか、
それとも自発的なものなのかも判断のしようがありませんしね。

巻き込まれた形とはいえ、最後は取り逃がすも結標を追い詰めた黒子。
しかし美味しいところは結局一方通行に攫われてしまって、
まさに骨折り損だった印象ですねえ。
そして意外な身体能力の高さを見せた当麻。
超電磁砲で崩落する床の瓦礫などを足場に黒子を受け止めて、
そのまま上のフロアへと駆け上がれる一般高校生が何処にいるのか？と。


僅か２話で終わった残骸編。
そして次回からはいよいよ第１クールの山場となる大星覇祭編。
美鈴さん、出番です！
